Best Director!

Last night I won the Rouben Mamoulian Award for Best Director in the Dendy Awards at the Sydney Film Festival.  Thank you to everyone who made it happen, my amazing producers Apolline Berty and Brietta Hague, my extremely talented crew and cast, and all of our backers. I never would have won the award without your talent, courage and support! Big shout out to Dendy Cinemas for sponsoring the awards and Sydney Film Festival!!!

Here are some photos of Closing Night and Brie and me at our screening.

Private Screening

Last weekend we had our first screening of Red Rover. It was a private one for industry guests, investors, friends and family. It was a wonderful, supportive audience and we got some great feedback!

We’re entering the film into a number of festivals at the moment so hopefully it will find its way to new audiences soon!

(BELOW) Brietta took a photo of the crowd. She must have been nervous because it’s a little shaky.

The Sound Master

IMG_3812 copy

After some very late nights, Christine and I finally finished the edit. We got the nod of approval from our Producers, Screen Australia and some very lovely test audience members.

Now we’re in Scotts Head working on the sound design with Sam Petty!!! Sam is a lovely, friendly man so it’s not immediately obvious that he’s kind of a big deal in the Australian industry. We are so excited to work with the man who created soundscapes for some real Australian classics, including The Boys, Summersault and more recently The Rover.

Here are some pics of time in Scotts Head. It’s tough to be a filmmaker.
